Retrofit package for Solar Scooter Sport SCP 3540

Since the battery-management system was not installed as standard in the Solar Scooter model SCP 3540 Sport, we offer it to our customers as a retrofit kit for the special price of 300, - € (self installation). The installation can be safely upgraded by hobby technicians on their own.(Instructions included) Of course you can have the device mounted by your dealer.

The BMS (battery management system) protects lithium cells by so-called cell voltage monitoring and active current reduction from being overcharged.
Individual "cell drifts" can be corrected on long term, leading to a much higher life of the entire battery pack!

In case of overcharging, Lithium cells have no chemical side reactions which absorb energy and convert it into heat, so this must be realized by a BMS.
If the cells are operated without BMS, every overcharging of a cell leads to premature degradation, which is reflected by significant capacity losses.
Due to the so-called "cell drift", creeping overloads occurs in multi-cell battery packs after a few cycles without BMS, which makes the cell pack age very fast!

The control unit operates fully automatically in the background (Sleep - Mode).
As soon as an increase of voltage occurs in the cells, (eg while charging) the controller wakes up and starts to work.

The quiescent current in sleep - mode is generally only about 7μA per cell and has no effect on the shelftime or the discharging behaviour of the battery pack.
